Day 62 "Yesterday And Today"

Yesterday was a long time ago now, it feels like a lifetime ago. Thankfully time has been kind to you.

Yesterday we were kids who knew nothing, best friends unable to envision a future without each other.

Yesterday we wore only black and fought the world together. Yesterday our worlds were inseparable.

But time the thief had other plans for us.

Yesterday we fell apart and disconnected, and we walked our separate paths, away from each other for the first time in many years.

Yesterday we stopped talking and chose to be alone and broken over the fractured thing that we had become.

Yesterday we pointed fingers and drew the line in the sand.

Yesterday we chose to walk away.

These paths that led us to the people that we are today, these very separate paths that led us to new loves, and a brave new world.

But that was yesterday, and I look upon it fondly now, even more so now that yesterday has brought us here today.

Where yesterday two lovers so close would develop a schism so intense that they would never recover and reclaim, today has come full circle, to remind me that the one thing that mattered most, our friendship, was always intact.
