Life.
In all forms it never ceases to amaze me, Its will
to be appreciated and acknowledged is a force like no other. As a flawed human
I fall victim to taking almost everything for granted at one point or another.
Too many days I wait for life to happen. I hope
that when I wake up tomorrow something might have changed while I slept.
Perhaps this will be the day where I actually feel
alive again, for even a moment? It feels like a lot to ask though.
Everywhere I see people celebrating love and life,
while others walk head down and colorless...cold and wounded.
There is something there within all of us that
calls out to feel alive, to achieve happiness, to celebrate with all the others
out in the sun.
This life is not easy for anyone, and within
everyone is an ocean vast and ever changing, and all you can do sometimes is
learn to tread water and keep your head above the waterline.
I am still treading water.
Even a flower must grow against the force of
gravity.
Gravity.
Such a powerful force that attaches itself to
anything meaningful in our lives; the gravity of love, the gravity of pain, of
fear, of change...the gravity of even hope.
Life demands effort, it demands the drawing of
blood, sweat and ego. It demands your patience, your will, and the knowledge of
what you are willing to fight for.
Failing to adhere to the law of gravity and the
demands of life will surely leave you a ghost. To wander always, never knowing
quite where to spend your time and where to send your love, or what to hope for
at all.
Do not place your faith in the mechanical empires,
or spend all your days among the city and its dead gods. Show your resilience
in the face of adversity, and the strength of your will in the face of
opposition.
Your weakness does not have to be worn as your
armor; no, it can be hidden so far below the surface that even a titan might
hesitate to challenge you.
Life, it demands that you show it who you are, and
although it will try to hold you to your designated post; it does not ever
fully know your deepest intention to challenge it, and because of this, life
holds no unending power over you.
Challenge everything that seeks to hold you down,
and stand mighty and fragile against gravity.
Whoever said that you were destined for anything? You?
If you are destined for anything, it is to live in
a power struggle with gravity. It is a destiny that has you trying to prove to
life, to yourself and to your love; that you are worthy of this gift.
It is a destiny to stand against titans.
Even a flower fights gravity...and with hope for a
companion, perhaps you should as well.
