This unseen mask that I placed upon my
own face, placed in spite and in defense to the one that you placed upon your
own.
Lies meeting
lies is such a damning truth.
How long must
anyone pretend to be content in the purgatory of their hearts? How long is
anyone supposed to hide the honesty of their pain? How long are you going to
hide yours? Are you even hiding like I am? Or am I truly the only one between
us that is wearing a mask today?
There is a
vision, an intent, and an instinct within you. Something important that your
soul has demanded action for; and still even with this demand we wait in
purgatory; paralyzed by the invisible, the intangible.
Before you
placed the mask upon your face, and before you accepted the false identity of
the fearful and spiritually divided...who did you seek to be in this life?
Did you mean
to become this alien version of who you once were?
Is it never
too late to find the cracks within this mask, and start picking away at it
until you see your own reflection? Is there still time to start digging through
to the skin we once knew?
Fear would
answer yes...but that is a mask that carries no agenda worth pursuing. It is a
mask with only the power and weight that you allow it to have.
Who are we
truly?
What dream
once desired, still desired, keeps itself deep within us?
What
possibility keeps this undesirable mask fragmented and held upon our
faces?
What memories
of more honest, more pure times, oppose the complete fusion of this dark being?
How long
until we know who will win dominance over our souls?
Hold fast to
your will and to your instinct; hold incredibly fast to your true self, for as
long as you can.
It takes no
strength at all to adhere to disloyalty, to relinquish the expectations and
destiny of a human becoming. It is of no great feat to challenge the weak and
serve the strong, and there is no payment worthy enough for the betrayal of
ones own dreams to serve another's.
Believe not
in complacency or the illusion of safety, for there is nothing in this world
that cannot be challenged and defeated, and nothing that lies beyond redemption
either.
There is no
vision that cannot be seen, no desire that cannot be achieved, no love that
cannot be rescued; and above all else, there is no mask that cannot be removed.
Perhaps it is
time to start searching our faces for the cracks in these alien masks.

Finally caught up on reading your blog!!! :)
ReplyDeleteWell done! It is becoming quite the project. I am glad the weather has warmed up so I can venture outside. Shooting in -30 is not my idea of a good time.
