Please play again.
What a nice thought, such a pleasant idea this whole concept that you still have another chance to win, even
if you don't believe that you will; and even
if you don't plan on trying to win every again.
How many things in life grant us a do-over?
How many second, third, fourth or whatever chances can anyone ever hope
to really get?
If you let something go, if you give up with no plan on making amends,
can you even allow yourself the benefit of believing that you deserve another
chance for your failure in trying to reclaim that which has been lost?
For some of us we are destined to always read the disappointing
words "Please play
again", and the fact that sometimes winning means that we
must go against our own moral code, that we have to rig the game from the
start, and that if we don’t then we are to blame for those three words
surfacing yet again.
Does luck even exist? Or are we simply giving credit to another force,
even though it was our doing that brought us here in the first place?
How can we put so much faith in luck and destiny when they contradict
each other in nature? Where one tells us
that we stumbled upon something great, the other shows us that we were always
meant to arrive here.
One accepts chaos, while the other tries to explain it away.
"Please play again"
I am not so sure that I like this game anymore, and it seems the only
winners are the ones that play dirty anyway, the ones that are willing to bend
the rules, and the ones willing to place a wall between lovers.
There is little room left in my heart for this path anymore, and I have
killed the queen early to guarantee this impossible situation; but I intend to
change the rules very soon.
Please play again...not this time.
