Day 217 "Defiant And Hopeful"

There is no denying when an idea is an irresponsible one, and we can all easily see when another path should be taken instead.

Everyone has the ability, if they take the time to look that is, to see their potential downfall in an action, and yet for some of us we still push the envelope, we still manage to test the resolve of fate, we still choose to challenge the will of the universe; just this once, just this one last time.

There is an instinct within us, it makes no reservations when sending out the warning signs, and yet we still choose to ignore them to our own end.

Why would anyone continue on a path that is littered with "Turn back" signs everywhere?

Why would anyone choose to keep acting in a way that might lead them to pain and loss?

How could anyone ever willingly gamble on something with no guarantee, and more chance of the worst potential heartache?

Perhaps we are all quite simply defiant dreamers?

Here we are challenging the storm while in a boat that leaks and torn sails.

Here we are still screaming out to sky, with a mocking smile on our faces, because we know that no matter how volatile and misdirected our desires may be, they are still our best chance at surviving the storms wrath.

Here we are, still defiant, still dreaming, and still hopeful.
