Day 335 "Our Duty"

It is a great responsibility to defend another, to protect the weaker, to believe in something honorable.

For many, the path of the defender is a solitary one, it is a mission to help without a guarantee of a reprieve from battle.

So many broken souls have found the will to give what left they had away, all in the attempt to save another from a similar fate.

So many have tried, so many have failed; but sometimes you get it right.

Some of us suffer in silence, while others shine their painful lights bright for the world to see, in the hopes that they might learn something from watching the struggle from a distance.

Many of these great souls have no choice but to carry the weight of the desire to protect, they cannot outrun their sense of responsibility to help make this world we share a better place; if only for one soul.

Against all the odds, while swimming against the currents of our ambitions, we will never stop trying to keep the ones we care about safe and defended.

I know that for many of us, we can never abandon our duty to forever attempt to keep another safe against the cold of their darkest winters.
