All things in our lives are eventually for sale.
Eventually we sell everything at a cost, eventually our treasure becomes
dull from the dirty hands of Time The Thief, and within time all our misfit
toys will become loved by another who will eventually reject them like we did.
Today we will appreciate what tomorrow we will take it for granted, and
the next day we will purge our lives of these once amazing things.
It is hard not to feel a hint of sadness when the universe provides
something beautiful for you to hold, for we know that when we look ahead, even
slightly, that the progression of our days will eventually cover these shiny
and wonderful things in a thick layer of dust.
I have seen love traded for lust, dreams traded for fantasies, and even
happiness for melancholy.
I have seen trust sold for lies, and the spiritual path abandoned for
the shallow and empty one instead.
The world is a pawn shop.
You can give away, sell it away, and even throw away.
The old you has a price, and I can guarantee that someone will be
willing to pay the going rate if you look long enough.
Someone will take the time to place value once again on the things that
you have lost faith in, and someone will take them home and try to clean off
their thick layer of dust, in the hopes to uncover and expose the beauty that
you have forgotten about.
Given enough time, someone will find your
dreams while you find theirs.
Given enough time, Time The Thief will steal
from us that which we swore we would never sell.
Given enough time, everything ends up showing
us that we never owned it in the first place.
Given enough time.
