Day 245 "Walking With A Mantra In Mind"

This once familiar road becomes more and more alien as I stop walking with memories. I used to invite the past along as company during these lonely times, and such a cold companion it ever was, always leaving me with a sense of ending up back where I started.
The past is always going to stay the past.
There is no stopping your momentum, only shifting the direction of it.
One step back becomes one step forward in another direction, and the emotions that we choose to invite along for the journey are the ones that will guide us.
Into darkness.
Into hope.
Into our pasts, and into our futures.
Controlling our emotions will help control our journey.
Loneliness is only an desire unfulfilled, and nothing more.
Desire is the ambition of the heart and mind, not always the soul.
The heart and mind are what guide every step we take, but the spirit is what pushes us ahead every time.

We cannot control what happens to us, only how we react to what has happened.

Be careful what mantra you speak as you walk through this life, because it is a fine line between telling yourself "The past is the past" and "The past is the present", and although they may sound similar, they could not be farther removed in their outcome.
